On DailyKos and other group blogs, once in a while someone will ask the rhetorical question, “How does so-and-so sleep at night?” The Simpsons answered this question in an exchange between Jay Sherman and Rainier Wolfcastle in an episode titled, “A Star Is Burns”:

Rainier: The film is just me in front of a brick wall for an hour and a half. It cost $80 million.
Jay: [contemptuous] How do you sleep at night?
Rainier: On top of a pile of money with many beautiful ladies.
Jay: Just asking. Yeesh!

Fisking is the “art” of making a point-by-point refutation of someone else’s argument on blogs and other Internet forums. The term is named after British journalist Robert Fisk - not, as you might think, because he practiced the tactic, but because he has often been the target of it.
I have a tendency to fisk others’ arguments myself - but gosh darn it, it just seems natural to write a point-by-point sarcastic destruction of really stupid arguments. I mean, so often these guys are just asking for it!

While “eat,” “feast on,” and “taste” remain off-limits, the FCC has approved the use of “purchase,” “be near to,” “look at,” and “hold.”
